Basics of Terathia's Geography
AUTHOR'S NOTE: This part is a massive WIP. I will write down basic ideas for various regions I have in mind that I want to develop. Once everything gets more developed I will create dedicated pages for each region. Once I start making more pages the regions will get less horribly formatted/wordy looking. Also I will add more parts to the following list as I come up with ideas (you are more than free to suggest them to me).
The region of Terathia is said to have been handcrafted by the gods. It is a land of strange monuments to the ancient past and bizarre geography that people have learned to live with. The major regions of Terathia I have in mind are as follows:
- The Plains of Steel: a large and lush grassy plain. It is dotted by small forests, and has the Great Forest within it. Scattered throughout the Plains are the remains of bizarre structures made of an unknown metal which is strong enough to withstand even the strongest spells. These vary in size from small chunks and bits of metal embedded into the ground, to large structures, both solid and hollow, scattered everywhere. A unique form of moss has adapted to be able to root itself onto the metals, covering them in said moss. This creates a unique phenomenon of the structures being overgrown by plantlife whilst remaining there. Local legend and stories state that these are all that remain of the weapons wielded by the Gods during the Godswar and that the survivng Gods placed them there as a monument to their hubris, so that no others repeat their mistakes.
- The Cryptwall: a massive mountain range that spans the entirety of Terathia's North. It is completely impassible and ash rains down perpetually on the mountains and on the on the regions near it, with nearby regions being known as the Ashlands.
- The Landscorpse: A region to the far east, it stretches as far as the eye can see, seemingly forever. It is completely devoid of Mana and remaining in there for longer than a day will result in your death as you decay into ash. It is completely and utterly inhospitable.
